Raycus, as a globally renowned laser brand, offers a comprehensive range of application lasers, including laser marking, laser welding, laser rust removal, and fiber cutting series, covering various applications in the manufacturing industry.
As a representative Chinese laser brand, its laser marking series is divided into three categories - QE/QS/QB - based on practical applications and customer budgets. Choosing the right laser model for your production depends on several factors.
Warranty periods.
The 30QS has a 2-year warranty, while the 30Q and 30QB come with a 3-year warranty. Additionally, the presence of an internal red light differs. The 30QS and 30Q do not come with internal red light by default, unless specially customized, whereas the 30QB has an internal red light indicator as a standard feature. If you purchase the 30QB, you won't need to buy an additional red light indicator or beam expander since the beam expander in the optical path is not very meaningful for it.
Differences in the parameter table:
First is the difference in single-pulse energy: at a frequency of 40KHz, the maximum for 30QS is 0.75mJ, while for 30Q and 30QB at 30KHz, it's 1mJ.
Higher single-pulse energy typically means a stronger laser impact, especially during deep engraving operations.
The beam quality factor varies,
With 30QS and 30QB having a factor of ≤1.6, while 30Q has a factor of ≤1.5. This parameter may not be very sensitive in fiber lasers but has a more noticeable impact in CO2 lasers. for example, everyone uses a 30-watt CO2 laser, one using a glass tube and the other using a radio-frequency tube, you'll notice that the laser spot is finer, the lines are more precise, and it feels more powerful with the radio-frequency tube due to a lower M2 parameter, likely around 1.5, while the glass tube's M2 might be greater than 2. These differences become evident upon comparison.
Pulse width:
The narrowest pulse width for 30QS is 130-160 nanoseconds (at 40KHz), while for 30Q, it's 120-150 nanoseconds (at 30KHz). Narrow pulse width has its advantages, which you can understand by comparing Q-switched lasers and MOPA lasers.
Assuming a 20-watt Q-switched laser can narrow the pulse width to about 120 nanoseconds, while an MOPA laser can reduce it to 2 nanoseconds, for the MOPA laser, peak power = 1mJ / 10 nanoseconds = 100,000 watts, while for the Q-switched laser, peak power = 1mJ / 120 nanoseconds = 8,333 watts, hence the perception of greater power with higher peak power.
Frequency:
With 30QS having a frequency of 40-60KHz, and 30Q and 30QB having a frequency of 30-60KHz. Lowering the frequency means a smaller duty cycle and higher peak power, making operations like laser marking more powerful.
